Crown and Bridge Treatments

If you have a damaged tooth, an option for fixing the problem can be a dental crown, and one of the options for replacing missing teeth is fixed bridges.  Because our office is interested in bringing together cosmetic and restorative dentistry to give you results that are both attractive and strong, we offer beautiful crown and bridge treatment to rehabilitate smiles while returning them to their natural appearance.  With various dental materials available for crown and bridge dental restorations, Latta Family Dentistry offers you the most current and popular options modern dentistry provides.

With crowns, which are tooth-shaped caps that fit snugly over the natural tooth once the tooth has been prepared by Dr. Latta, we can correct problems like broken teeth, teeth weakened by root canal therapy, large fillings that need to be replaced and support for dental bridges.  A dental bridge is a row of replacement teeth with crowns on either end, offering a solution to missing teeth that is bonded in place to offer more security than you might feel with a removable partial denture.

A dental bridge can also be supported on the ends by dental implants.  Dental implants help you maintain a healthy jaw as well as a healthy smile, which can make an implant-supported bridge a more attractive option than conventional crown and bridgework.  We will help you better understand your options during a consultation with Dr. Latta.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are very thin shells of tooth-shaped porcelain that are placed on the front of teeth to correct problems with the appearance of the teeth.  This is a fairly simple way to completely change the look of your smile, correcting a number of cosmetic issues with a single treatment.  Latta Family Dentistry uses great skill and technical knowledge to produce beautiful results for our patients through the use of porcelain veneers.

If you’re concerned that porcelain veneers won’t look natural, consider the highly customizable nature of these dental restorations.  We can modify the size, shape and color of the veneers to exactly match the proportions of your smile and your overall facial appearance, making them look like a natural part of your smile.  Once bonded to the teeth, porcelain veneers are completely stain resistant.  Porcelain veneers offer a durable, long-lasting and strong cosmetic solution to smile problems.

Dr. Latta will use all of his talents as a cosmetic dentist to bring out the best in your smile.  He especially enjoys using the various materials at his disposal to give patients who otherwise thought they would never like their smiles to end up absolutely loving them instead.  We won’t consider the process complete until you are fully satisfied.

Full Dentures and Partial Dentures

Dentures in some form or fashion have existed for hundreds of years.  They’ve been made from wood and even animal teeth in the past, and dentistry has been coming up with new versions made from better materials over the years.  Today’s dentures are made from lightweight and attractive materials that have greatly improved the function and comfort of both full dentures and partial dentures.  This is great news for patients who can’t opt for dental implants or fixed bridges for whatever reason.  Latta Family Dentistry offers the latest full dentures and partial dentures so you get the most satisfying results possible.

Full dentures and partial dentures are removable dental prosthetics that can easily and affordably be fabricated if you are missing some or all of your teeth.  Full dentures can be held in place by natural suction or dental implants, giving you plenty of options.  Partial dentures are held in place by clasping onto the remaining teeth in the mouth.

Why should you make sure to replace missing teeth?  If you are missing your entire set of top or bottom teeth, you will need tooth replacement to make it possible for you to eat properly again.  Without teeth, you can’t get the various nutrients your body needs to maintain optimal health.  However, even just one missing tooth can be a big problem, leading to increased risk of oral health problems and further tooth loss.

You may not be sure about which form of tooth replacement will work best for you.  We can guide you through information about each option and perform an examination to help you navigate your choices.  Contact Latta Family Dentistry today!

Root Canal Therapy

When you have severe tooth pain or have noticed increased sensitivity in a tooth, it can be a sign of a very serious problem.  A cracked tooth, a tooth with extensive decay or an injured tooth may require root canal (endodontic) therapy to help save it from extraction and prevent further complications.  Root canal therapy from Latta Family Dentistry can dramatically improve your oral health and keep your smile intact.

What does root canal therapy involve?  If you could look inside your tooth, you would see a chamber that runs from the root tip to inside the portion of the tooth visible in your mouth.  This chamber contains what is known as the tooth pulp.  The pulp feeds the tooth and relays nerve impulses to keep you aware of how the tooth is doing.  When the chamber becomes exposed, whether through extensive decay or a fracture, it can result in damage and infection of the tooth pulp.  The pulp can also become damaged through an injury, like a blow to the tooth.  When this happens, the pulp that has been infected or damaged needs to be removed.  Root canal therapy involves the removal of the tooth pulp and filling of the chamber with a biocompatible material.  After this procedure, the tooth will normally need to be protected from fracture with the placement of a crown.

We want you to know that we’re concerned about your comfort, and we will go out of our way to make sure that your root canal therapy is as comfortable as possible.  If you think you might be in need of root canal therapy or you haven’t had a dental checkup in a while, contact us at Latta Family Dentistry.
